If you still haven’t found a reputable company to work with, you might want to stop by my site at MomsWorkatHome and listen to me tell you about the company that’s been paying me weekly checks for the past 14 years. I’ve recorded a NEW AUDIO clip on the CONTACT ME page, so you won’t want to miss it!

Network Marketing Videos

I uploaded a NETWORK MARKETING page at the Moms Work at Home web site, so you’ll want to check it out and watch the videos by network marketing trainer, Tim Sales.

Mystery Shopper Sites

In mystery shopping on October 4, 2008 at 11:55 pm

I am looking for REPUTABLE mystery shopping sites to review. Do any of you have any feedback or recommendations you can report? I read a review online about the Shadow Shopper program. Does anyone know anything about it? All I know, at this point, is that it has three membership levels for shoppers – Gold, Silver and Bronze. The Bronze membership is FREE and allows you to start working right away even if you don’t have any experience.

I welcome your feedback on this subject!

Calling Freelance Writers

In freelancing on October 4, 2008 at 11:22 pm

I read just this week about a publisher that pays between $16 and $200 for selected articles submitted by internet writers. If you are a good writer and want to earn money writing articles about topics that interest you, you might want to check out Helium Marketplace and see what they have to offer. This is NOT a personal recommendation, as I only know what I’ve read about them online.

If any of you moms have had experience with this company, could you please comment for us?

Tips for Nannies and Babysitters

In babysitting, tips on October 3, 2008 at 4:28 pm

I just got off the phone with a gal who LOVES babysitting. Right now she’s working as a NANNY and makes super good money working only part time. One thing she has going for her is that she’s HIGHLY recommended by everyone because she’s so good.

When I talked with her, I suggested she purchase a journal-type notebook and ask each parent to write a review on one page in that book for her. She can then carry that book with her and share it with every new parent she meets. What an EXCELLENT way to promote yourself!

For those of you who love babysitting, try this and see if it helps generate referrals for you. You can even donate your time here and there, along the way, in exchange for a review in your book!

Beware of Past Skeletons

In warnings and alerts on October 3, 2008 at 3:51 pm

For the most part, moms are usually pretty smart. I know my kids always said “You have eyes in the back of your head, mom. We can’t get by with anything!” That being said, I want to encourage all of you to use that “female intuition” you’ve been given and really do your homework like I did years ago when I was looking for a good work-at-home program.

If you decide to look into network marketing (especially), PLEASE be careful! I LOVE network marketing (my company falls into this category, but I’ve proven it works for over 13 years, so I don’t think credibility is an issue here. LOL). Make sure you don’t fall headlong into the first program that comes along.

One of the things you want to look for is a history of skeletons lurking in the closet! What do I mean by this? Companies that close up for dirty dealings and reopen under another name! It goes on all the time; I know two companies right now that have come to my attention this week that have done this very same thing.

So do your due diligence. You don’t need me to tell you how; you’re smart enough to know that. Just ask lots of questions, take lots of notes, and trust your intuition!

VIP Desk Positions Available

In home agent programs on October 3, 2008 at 12:13 pm

For those of you who are looking for “call center” positions that you can do from home (order taking, customer service, etc), I understand that VIP Desk is hiring 500 new positions before the end of this year. This site was recommended to me by another mom who has worked for two other call centers before and knows what to look for in a good program. She recommended this one, so I’m passing it on to all of you.

Here is an excerpt I took from their site:

EVS Group BEWARE!

In warnings and alerts on October 2, 2008 at 8:29 pm

For all of you moms that may be considering the EVS Group Home Agent program, PLEASE BEWARE! Everyone knows EVS Group is a spin-off of ITV Ventures which closed its doors on September 30 due to several factors, one of which was POOR management! The cost of EVS Group IS reasonable at only $79/month, but I believe the call credits are still going to cost (not necessarily a bad thing, you just need to keep this in mind).  I understand that the RESIDUAL side to the compensation plan is NO GOOD at all. Hope this is helpful!

ITVVentures Strikes Out!

In general news on October 2, 2008 at 8:18 pm

I’m SO GLAD I tested the ITV progam and wouldn’t enroll anyone in it! (Why should I? My company is VERY reputable and pays me VERY WELL!) I saw some “red flags” with the ITV program, even though it had a number of good points. So for all of you moms out there who are researching a work-at-home program, please BEWARE of YOUNG companies (particulary those with a network marketing side to their comp plan) that are under 3 years old. Also, make sure the management team is reputable. The more PHDs, the better. Single family management is a NO-NO!

I started this blog to take the place of my newsletter at http://MomsWorkatHome.com where I promise to give moms the very BEST and most up-to-date information I can find about work-at-home programs on the web. I’ve worked from home for over 13 years with a reputable company that I truly love, but I realize there are lots of good programs out there.

If you’re looking at different programs or if you have feedback that I could use to help other moms, please subscribe to this blog so we can stay in touch!
